Patio season is upon us and we are so lucky to have so many great eateries around town with patios to enjoy. Whether you’re planning your next book club meetup, a day date with someone special, or want to treat yourself to a memorable meal, the Dayton area offers some one of a kind dining experiences.
Here are a few of my favorite brunch spots with patios that provide the perfect backdrop for your mimosas and morning favorites. From hidden garden escapes to vibrant streetside settings, these restaurants will give you a few more reasons to love where you live! Tucked away in the charming village of Yellow Springs, Ellie’s Restaurant (located inside Mills Park Hotel) is one of my absolute favorites to take friends and out of town guests. It is oozing with charm, complete with rocking chairs while you wait for a table and one of the most delightful porch-side views of downtown Yellow Springs. It’s elegant yet laid back, and such a treat!
Why I love it: The porch at Ellie’s is the perfect place to enjoy a slow morning with good conversation. Their southern inspired menu is freshly made with local and seasonal ingredients, and includes favorites like chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and other American classics.
Don’t miss: They make the best honey latte and the sweet potato bowl is my brunch go to. The beignets alone are worth the drive!

While technically more of a lunch spot than a brunch destination, Manna in Uptown Centerville deserves a spot on this list for its absolutely whimsical patio and exceptional food. This European-inspired dining spot brings sophisticated flavors to Centerville in a truly enchanting setting.
Why I love it: Romanticize your life with a meal at Manna. Because life is too short to be anything but magical, right? The drapery and classic black and white umbrellas make you feel like you’re on a vacation (even if it’s just a lunch break!). Chef Margot has created a space that feels like an escape from the ordinary, with a beautiful patio where every meal feels special.
Don’t miss: Their craft cocktail program perfectly complements the European and South American-inspired cuisine. My favorite dishes on the menu right now are the Seared Scallops and Ponzu Salmon, paired with a glass of Sangria!

A relatively new addition to the Centerville dining scene, The Brunch Pub has quickly established itself as a go-to spot for brunch enthusiasts. Their farmhouse-inspired atmosphere extends to an impressive outdoor seating area.
Why I love it: The casual and rustic charm creates the perfect setting for taking a brunch break or bringing my laptop to get some work done outside with an iced coffee and avocado toast! It’s a great spot to relax and stay a while.
Don’t miss: The menu features a variety of breakfast favorites with creative twists, but their avocado toast and chicken & waffles stand out as particularly exceptional in my humble opinion!

Lily’s in Dayton’s Oregon District offers not just one, but three distinct outdoor dining spaces! While their front patio along 5th Street provides great people-watching, the back courtyard patio is truly one of Dayton’s hidden gems.
Why I love it: The back patio at Lily’s feels like a secret garden oasis in the middle of the city. You don’t know it’s there, unless you know! When everything is in bloom, it’s absolutely magical – especially when lilies are flowering! It’s the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle while still being in the heart of Dayton.
Don’t miss: Their brunch menu offers Cafe du Monde style beignets and specialty benedicts that pair perfectly with their craft cocktails. The tropical vibe makes their mimosas and tiki-inspired drinks especially fitting.

Just a short drive north of Dayton in Butler County, Cozy’s Cafe and Pub offers one of the most enchanting patio experiences in the region. Their outdoor space features a fireside patio that creates the perfect atmosphere for a leisurely brunch. Trust me, it’s worth the trip!
Why I love it: The patio at Cozy’s truly lives up to the restaurant’s name with its comfortable, inviting atmosphere. The space feels like an extension of their farmhouse dining rooms, making it ideal for relaxing with friends while enjoying exceptional food. They also have great space to plan special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries!
Don’t miss: Their farm-to-table approach shines in their gourmet comfort food. I really appreciate that they source ingredients from local farms making each bite taste fresh and flavorful, while also directly supporting the community! From sweet classics like french toast to creative takes on omelets and platters, their menu has something for everyone!

Located in the vibrant Austin Landing shopping district, Ele Cake Co is another locally owned eatery with an expansive menu and bakery! Enjoy daytime shopping, then stop in for brunch in a delightful patio setting.
Why I love it: It’s a sweet retreat! Come in for a full meal or pick up coffee and a cupcake while you’re out and about! The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely brunch with friends or family. You can also hear the fountain in the background, which is so relaxing any time of day. I also recommend RSVP’ing for one of their fabulous holiday brunch buffets for throughout the year (think Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc)
Don’t miss: Their menu features refreshing options like flatbreads, sandwiches, and garden salads that are perfect for patio dining. The brunch cocktail selection is particularly impressive as well with Irish coffee, a bloody mary, flavored bellinis, and espresso martinis!

It has a delightful screened-in patio that’s perfect for enjoying the outdoors while still being comfortable inside! This charming small town spot serves up classic breakfast and lunch dishes in a warm, welcoming environment.
Why I love it: Their screened-in patio provides all the benefits of outdoor dining without worrying about the elements. It’s a comfortable spot to enjoy their exceptional breakfast creations year-round.
